The Flat Dome of the Saint Ignazio Church

The Church of Saint Ignazio is situated in Rome between Via del Corso and Piazza del Pantheon.

This Church is unique and amazing because its dome was not built for structural and economic issues. To overcome the inconvenience and not leave the Church unfinished, in 1685 Andrea Pozzo created a special fresco using a three-dimensional perspective technique able to give the illusion of a majestic dome: today well-known as Flat Dome.
